The Sweet Smell of...

Paperwhites?  Really?  I found the smell putrid. The flower, and I am sooooo glad I only got one bulb, was pretty. It was very easy to force. I had never forced a bulb before. But the smell forced me to put it outside on the front porch. Next time ~ tulips.

I've had paperwhites before but they didn't smell putrid. Hmmmm....I wonder if my nose is broken?

I've always thought paperwhites were pretty but I can't honestly say that I've ever smelled any.

I traditionally fill a windowsill with paperwhites. Very sweet smelling. May be a bit overbearing for some. This year i have a single amaryllis.
