Grace

Man of the house alerted me to this gorgeous creature perched on our fence. I sneaked out the front door, around the house and clicked off one shot before he...

 ...gracefully flew away...

 ...silently...

...to the top of this tree. I was hidden and just as silent. What could have possibly alerted him to my presence?

Hey, you got any of those cookies?

What a beautiful owl. We've lived here 2 years and in all that time I've only caught a glimpse of one.

I love that you call yourself a "Corgi hostage" on you sidebar. It's true. I have two and they run the farm. Think what all four could do together? Good grief. How did this happen?

Hewwo! - such beautiful pictures of two magnificent animals!

I can identify the speices of dog but the hawk is a bit harder. :)

Is this a Broad-winged Hawk? You were lucky to get such a great picture!

About a year ago I was sitting in my office at the back of my home facing the backyard. I glanced outside and there was a hawk sitting on the rock beside our pool - I was in awe of its beauty and in awe that in the suburban neighborhood in Southern California you just don't see things like this... It was a gift that I will always remember.
Merry Christmas

Nice shot. I always think of owls and hawks and such as omens. I haven't figured out whether they are good or bad, but I think good. Unless you are a mouse.
