In which a Tot is saved!

Not five minutes after we got in the pool today, Zoe jumped in! Neither dog has ever willingly gone in the pool since it has been filled to its full depth. Last summer, Zoe did jump in once, but it wasn't full. You can refresh your memory here.

The girls tried to entice both dogs in to no avail.

Noodle decided Tot toys might lure them in. They love to gut those tots!

Come and get it Chloe!

And somehow she snatched it right out of Older Daughter's hand!

The chase was on!

But Noodle was hot on their heels!

Meanwhile back at the pool... Not a care in the world. Don't you two even care that Puffer Fish Tot is in the jaws of a killer??!!

Poor Tot! But, rescued by the persistent and fast Noodle!

Let's try this again...

Enough drama for one day. Time to relax!

Never heard of him...

Stopped at the Shell station the other day and saw this. I really do live in a small town.

Noodle goes to Jenks

Dad escorted noodle on a school field trip to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks. Just a few days before, tornadoes had spun through the state and Jenks was still dealing with the power outages. The aquarium had about half power. Had it not been for the scheduled field trips, it would have been closed. Sophie really loved the trip.

Saturdays Suck

I take my rheumatoid arthritis drug on Saturdays.

I take six little pills. Last week, my first week, I took just four and they knocked my out. The fatigue was unbelievable. The headache and loss of appetite were bearable. Today I took six and I'm waiting. While I wait for side effects, I read blogs about RA and when that gets scary I read about peak oil and how we are doomed.

That makes me feel better. ;)

Bullet Dodged

The severe storms are east of us now and many Oklahomans were not so lucky. I'm still watching it all unfold, grateful we were in one of those odd and welcoming pockets.

But, before we knew the storm would split or stall, or what ever it did... We headed below ground.

Packing the boys in the crate was NOT easy.
They were NOT happy.

The corgis thought it was a real adventure. My daughters were brave and sweet. I'm grateful we are alright, but I'm so sad for my fellow Okies who are homeless tonight.

Fearless

Got a dx today I sort of knew was coming.

About a year ago my feet started to hurt and my hands swelled some.

On our long drive west last summer, every time I would get out of out truck, when I would land on my feet, the pain was excruciating.

By Christmas, I was in agony. My doc gave me a steroid shot (heaven!) and referred me to a rheumatologist. Her name is Elizabeth Taylor. Really!

By the time I saw the specialist, I was better, but she felt some inflammation. Blood was drawn, another visit, blood was negative, an anti-inflammatory was prescribed, and a follow up appointment made for June. The doc was hoping I had simply reacted to a latent infection.

A few weeks ago the flare began. I swelled some and the pain returned. Yesterday I hit the wall. I called Elizabeth Taylor and today, it is official - I have rheumatoid arthritis. Crap!

But, I'm betting on remission, and I'm going forward.

If you aren't familiar with RA, google it. It's not your grandma's arthritis.

The red dirt hills are gone.

The girls and dogs and cat really enjoyed those hills.

But we are ready for a real backyard without all that red dirt.
