Museum Visit with hams

Our last weekend before school started we decided to escape the heat and visit the OKC History Museum.

Museum visits are fun when you have hams to pose for the pictures.

There were several of these posters where you could get behind and stick your head through. Perfect for hams.

Super-hams!

Penguin Ham! (The museum had an entire section on comics. Very cool!)

Noodle was not such a ham when it came to the old school house. Maybe it reminded her too much of what was right around the corner for her.

Goodbye to summer...

On Monday I said goodbye to endless days in the pool, sleeping in, and uninterrupted daughter and corgi time. *sigh*

I really do love my job, but it isn't easy saying goodbye to summer this year.

I'm moving my classroom and it has been two solid days of non-stop work. I am sore and exhausted. My fragile joints are not happy.

But I am making progress.

This is how my classroom looked yesterday morning.

But fortified with a Sonic diet coke I transformed it into something that resembles a place of learning. I'll post more pictures tomorrow because I forgot my iphone cord at school.

Someday...

Someday I'm going to write a bucket list. I've been inspired by a really awesome blogger I met from the bloghop. I'll make the list and link her too.

Someday I'm going to make a dictionary of definitions for captchas, or maybe write a story using a bunch of them.

Someday I'm going to learn to do more in photo-shop than just isolate and color. (for some reason Blogger would not let me upload the picture I had altered)

Someday I will get a pedicure.

Looks like the start of a bucket list.

It's a Blog Party!

This is the week for BlogHer's annual shindig. I wasn't invited. Wait I don't think you actually have to be invited. Maybe I just wanted you to feel sorry for me. Anyway, at Pensive you will find a bloghop party and it looks like a good one!
Thank you so  much for visiting today. If you're new here, I hope you wander around a bit and get to know me.

I still think of myself as a west coast girl, but I have lived and loved in Oklahoma for more years now than I lived out west.

I'm married to the love of my life.

We have two wonderful daughters.

Older Daughter

Noodle

I teach 6th grade and blog about that too.

We have cats.

One has a blog of his own.

We have two crazy corgis who get more than their share of blog space.

Ok, I need to post this so I can get back to the party and meet some new bloggers!

We knew it was just a matter of time...

I've written about Mr. Dumbles before. He is our large and loving black cat who has a tendency to be a little grumpy. Mr. Dumbles has always had grandiose ideas that we try to ignore. But never underestimate the desire of an overindulged cat.

Mr. Dumbles has created his own blog. You can read it here.

We think he has some help.

Take me out to the ballgame!

We spent last night at the ballpark watching the OKC Redhawks lose to the Iowa Cubs. It was a good game despite the heat early in the evening and the oppressive humidity that followed when the sun went down.

When we found our seats, one was taken by this elderly woman and she refused to move. We decided to just move down a seat instead of making a scene. Of course the owner of the one seat we took that did not belong to us (because mean lady was in our seat!) arrived and we had to move to another seat that did not belong to us. We hopped around that section all evening because we kept getting booted from seats that did not belong to us. Mean lady never moved once!

Before the game we met our friends for dinner at a place that overlooked the park. It was cool in there. We should have stayed.

I had this wonderful Mediterranean pizza.

For some reason the San Diego chicken was there and he was hilarious! The girls loved his antics and he kept them entertained. Good thing because they are not big baseball fans. Well, none of us are big fans of baseball, but we are big fans of the people who invited us to go and that made it fun for all of us. Well, that and the San Diego chicken.
