Summertime Corgi Pants

The unending 100 degree days called for drastic measures. Also, the corgi-tumbleweeds that collected in the corners of my house were getting ridiculous.

Hopefully the corgis' new look will keep my house cleaner and the girls cooler.

I got the girls to the beauty parlor / vet yesterday and they got the complete works.

Big day for them!

I told them "keep the pants!"

As soon as they got home, they headed straight for the pool.

Floating corgi pants.

Then it was time to roll in the dirt. Zoe needed to get all the "prettiness" off of her.

Good job Zoe!

I think they will thank me later.

Summer look for the bedroom...

Man of the house's allergies resulted in me removing my beloved down comforter and matching accoutrements from our bed. But that means a new look and I like it. It is summery and breezy...
I really need new lampshades!

and Mr. Dumbles approves.

Noodle at a dozen

A dozen years ago (last Saturday) I had a noodle. No drugs at all and I even tried to argue against the IV. This was my last baby and I wanted it MY way. I would have had her at home but man of the house just wasn't on board with that idea. I did have the most wonderful doula (birth coach) and will be eternally grateful that she shared that day with me.

June babies are lucky. They get luau-themed pool parties.

Mr. Dumbles was not happy about the theme.

With wonderful friends,

and cupcakes,

and corgis.

Happy Birthday Noodle!

Bucket List Update

I have about five or six things on my list that I am working on.
I have not completed any yet because they take time.

I will say that I did buy tickets to Shakespeare in the Park
We are going to A Midsummer Night's Dream.

We are going to get our will written this month. That is long over due.

One of my colleagues used to collect her kids' tardy excuses. She would display them for all to see and there were many that were hilarious!  So this last year, I started collecting my kids' tardy slips that made me smile. Most of their excuses were run of the mill - "car wouldn't start", "alarm did not go off", you get the drift. Occasionally there were the ones that brought a smile to my face or even a laugh.

Explanation: Her cow got out and she had to round it up.

My point is, I make a lot of excuses for not living my life to its fullest potential. I blame others, I blame myself, the weather, the budget; you name it! And I don't even have a cow!

Today I am going to go over my bucket list. I am going to select one thing I can accomplish this month and I am going to do it. No excuses!

Summer Laziness...

It has been a week or more of not doing much of anything. And as lazy as I have been, my girls have been even worse. I think some sloth-like behavior is OK for awhile, but the time comes when you have to get out of the house.

A blogger I love to read, Heidi at Castro HAPPYnings, wrote about the traveling Library of Congress. I decided it was exactly what we needed.

It wasn't a huge collection, but it was interesting. Noodle's favorite part was the information on films. She has just started using my little video camera to shoot her own movies.
After the museum, we had lunch at Eskimo Joe's. I noticed they had a webcam right on us, so I texted man of the house and told him to look us up. He could see us eating lunch. We are such dorks!
