I baked...

If you know me well, you know I don't often bake. I'm a good cook, but not a stellar baker. Man of the house's (MOTH) birthday was Sunday and I bought a cake that really wasn't very good. I woke up Monday and felt he deserved better.

MOTH has always raved about his grandma's Maple Pecan Chiffon cake and I decided that was the cake I would bake. I've never baked a chiffon cake but it really wasn't hard. It turned out pretty decent and tasted, well, just this short of amazing! MOTH loved it. Gave me the thumbs up and that was worth the dishes that filled my sink.

Want to bake your own? Google "Maple Pecan Chiffon cake" and you will get dozens of recipes and they are all basically the same.

*** I sort of like MOTH as a name for that guy. Might just keep it. ;)

That cake looks dee-lish! I bet the MOTH loved the fact that you put extra effort into making him feel special. Today is The Hub's b'day and all he got was breakfast, LOL. He was thrilled!

If you insist on putting up these mouth watering pictures of such yummy baked goods...the least you can do is send out an invite along with them. Where is my slice? We are skipping our Fridate this week...so I am do.

oH that looks soooooo yummers! MOTH. I like that, too. Because you know...sometimes men are like moths to a flame (us) just flitting around bugging us!

Now THAT CAKE looks like a cake worth eating. You done good, girl.
By the way... a "thumbs up" from a guy is about as good as it gets. He really liked that cake.
I sort of like MOTH too. Keep it.

Seems delicious, it is always to make sth. for a family member by hand as their birthday gift, it is more meaningful than what we bought, it is the opinion I hold for years, so when my mother or my father is on birthday, I would spend sometime to cook a dish for her/him or just bring them for a tour, it is always nice for a family to make a travel together. Wish you a nice day!

Wow, does that look good! You're so sweet to make a special cake for MOTH's birthday, even though you don't bake very often. And it's wonderful that he really did appreciate it so much. Bravo, Joan!

Looks delish...it's too bad that I'm lazy and won't look up the recipe because that will require me to make it.

That cake looks totally yummy! Congrats on a successful baking launch and landing.
Now, about that MOTH name... as a MOTH, I am not sure how I feel about it... lol. Easy to use. However, I guess it could stand for "Mom of the House" and lots of other things... lol. I guess I do like it after all! :)
